A former Banaadir regional official was killed in a car bomb attack in Mogadishu Sunday while an SNA hospital chairman escaped death in a separate incident.
Amin Sheikh Elmi who previously served as the secretary of Banaadir Regional Administration died when an IED suspected to have been fitted on his vehicle exploded in KM4 Junction, in Hodan district.
Separately, Somali Army Hospital director Khadija Iman Aynte and her driver escaped with injuries following a landmine explosion targeting their vehicle in Taleeh area, Hodan district.
The attacks come barely a month after a bomb attack at Banaadir Regional Administration headquarters killed at least seven officials including the Governor Abdirahman Omar Osman who succumbed to fatal injuries August 1.
