A Report by Radio Dalsan, Thursday, stated that police units in the districts of Dharkeenley and Wadajir, rescued civilians abducted from different neighborhoods in their respective districts from the hands of abductors.

it was only two that an Internet technician working for one of the major telecommunications companies in Mogadishu, the capital of Federal Somalia, and his driver were abducted on gunpoint in the Dharkenley district.

The district police station commander, Ismail Musa Yussuf, disclosed that his units did not only free the abductees but that two members of the criminal gang, one of them an army officer, were collared.

The Commander said that they are following other leads to apprehend other members of criminal networks specializing in abductions for ransom and armed robberies.

As was usually the norm in cases like these, the abductors strike a neighborhood and take the loot or abductees to hideouts in other districts in the same city, practically deriding repeated vows for severe punishment which regional and districts’ officials send defiant gangs through the media.

Mogadishu has, in recent weeks, enjoyed a lull in nefarious activities such as armed abductions, targeted assassinations, and robberies on gunpoint which in either daytime or in the evenings equally plagued city residents despite the tens of thousands of security forces deployed.
