Somalia: Hormuud Telecom Launches Corporate Scholarships

Somalia leading Telecom, Hormuud Telecom, has introduced the first-ever corporate scholarship scheme by a corporate company in the country.

Speaking during the launch on Thursday,  the company’s boss Abdukarim Karie said that the move was aimed at empowering the youth and promote education.

He said the company was committed to improving the country socially and economically.

“Our goal is to create jobs for the youth and sustain them in the country”.

He said that for the past 15 years that the company has been operating in the country, they had created many job opportunities.

He said that the company was obliged to give back to society through corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The company has over the years taken up the top position as the leading telecommunication company through innovative communication and money transfer initiatives.
