Six more staffers of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) were Thursday presented in court over issuance of a number plate for the car used by the gunmen in the 14 Riverside terror attack in Nairobi.

The six; Anthony Mjaka Kadu, Jacqueline Githinji, Cosmas Ngeso, Nderitu Irving, Stephen Kariuki Mbaka and Charles Wangocho Ndungu were presented on a miscellaneous application as the prosecution sought more time to detain them pending conclusion of investigations.

According to the prosecution, the six were arrested “due to their possible involvement in aiding and abetting the terrorist attack” that took place at 14 riverside Drive, living 21 people dead.

However, the miscellaneous application did not take off as the accused were arraigned past court sitting time.

Senior principal magistrate Martha Mutuku directed that the accused be remanded until Friday, February 1 when the application will be determined.

This brings to seven the number of NTSA officers arrested after detectives from the Anti-Terror Police Unit raided the transport regulator’s offices on Wednesday.

One other NTSA officer, Augustine Mulwa Musembi was arraigned in connection with the issuance of the said number plate — KCN 340E.

Milimani Court Senior Resident Magistrate Caroline Muthoni Nzibe, allowed an application by the prosecution to detain Musembi for 30 days.
