The Government of the United Arab Emirates is expected to announce a $2 billion investment and development package for the Republic of Somaliland, according to a confirmed source that spoke to The National last Thursday.
According to our source, the UAE government has promised the Government of the Republic of Somaliland $2 billion worth of investment projects and development aid.
Additional information on the upcoming announcement was not provided to The National.
Musa Bihi Abdi, the leader and presidential candidate of Somaliland’s ruling political party, Kulmiye, who’s currently in the UAE, is expected to hold talks with the senior UAE officials during his stay, regarding the investment and development package, and Somaliland-UAE relations.
