There has been an outpouring of condolences for renowned Somali scholar Hussein Mohamed Adan known affectionately as Hussein Tanzania who passed away on Jan 14th at his home in Boston.
Dr. Hussein Tanzania authored several books and was most known for being the founder of the Somali Studies International Association, an organization dedicated to the study of cultural, historical and contemporary Somali issues.
An accomplished academic, Dr. Tanzania held a Ph.D from Harvard University and was an associate professor of political science and the College of the Holy Cross and was the recipient of several awards and fellowships.
