The managing director of Shabelle Media Network (SMN), staff members and friends have paid final tribute to their slain colleague Abdulaziz Mohamed Ali Hajji who was shot dead in Mogadishu on Tuesday.
The director of Radio Shabelle Abukar Sheikh Mohamud has called on Somali authorities to swiftly probe into the murder of Abdulaziz Mohamed Ali Hajji and bring his killers into justice soon.
His media colleagues said late Hajji was a voice for the voiceless and he wanted to serve his people, including the locally displaced persons (IDPs) through his skillful journalism.
Late Abdulaziz Mohamed Ali Hajji was born in Mogadishu in 1981 and began his journalistic career in 2002 in Somalia capital. The slain journalist joined Radio Shabelle station in 2012.
Hajji was shot dead by pistol-wielding unidentified men on motorbike at a cafe in Mogadishu’s Yaqshid district on Tuesday afternoon. He was shot five times on the head and chest and died on the spot.
