Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) is set to broadcast live the annual wildebeest migration around the globe through a live TV broadcast by WildEarth and safariLIVE.
The broadcast to be live streamed for five days from the world famous Mara Triangle will also be broadcasting on National safariLIVE’s own social media pages.
Kenya’s destination marketing brand Magicalkenya will also convey the live broadcast through its Facebook and website platforms; www.facebook.com/KenyaTourism, and www.magicalkenya.com.
Kenya Tourism Board acting Chief Executive officer Jacinta Nzioka said the live broadcasts will initiate active interactions of the tourism product and the consumers.
These live broadcasts, Nzioka observed will show the real happenings of the migration and at the same time encourage everyone to log in and share the content on social media as widely as possible.
She said Kenya’s fame as a home to wildlife safaris has been taken a notch higher with digital platforms such as these live broadcasts.
On his part, WildEarth Chief Executive Graham Wallington said he was excited to be working with KTB on the ground-breaking week of broadcasts to showcase the destination
“WildEarth is honoured to be able to share this world renowned wildlife spectacle with our safariLIVE viewers. We will be right there watching the migration’s crossing of the Mara river from 16h00 EAT to sunset from the 20th to 24th September. Then from sunset to late at night we will be following lions as they hunt wildebeest on the plains. This has never been done like this before and we cannot wait to share it with the world,” he added.
