A Senior Somalia National Army (SNA) officer lost his life, Sunday, after suspected Al-shabaab suicide attacker targeted his car in a location in between the army command HQ and the ex-Guulwadayaasha Command office in Mogadishu .
The attack which occurred near Defense Headquarters in Mogadishu also killed over 20 more people most of whom soldiers.A Spokesman said the suicide attacker rammed his car into that of the Somali National Army 3rd brigade commander General Mohamed Jimale Roble, a.k.a. ‘General Goobaale’.
He was significant in the fight against armed group Al-shabaab in the lower Shabelle region and survived several attempted assassination by the group before.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has sent his condolences to Somali National Army and the family of the slain general.
