A new Sultan will soon join the already very strong caucus of traditional leaders in the Republic of Somaliland.
The venerable Sheikh Yussuf Abdi Awad will be inaugurated by one of the most respected clans – the Sanbuur – at Beer Valley of Togdheer region, Somaliland, on May 26, 2016.
It is expected that this new combination of clerical expertise and traditional leadership will pull its weight in cementing peace, coexistence and stability not only in the region of origin but within all Somali-inhabited areas in the Horn.
