The 52-year-old soldier Joash Ochieng Magar took his life at his home village in Busia where he was residing after being sent on an indefinite leave. The leave was given after the soldier developed mental problems after his time from Somalia.
Police are investigating his death. However, the public has dried out against KDF’s treatment of the soldier questioning why the government had not placed measures in place for dealing with such cases and why the government had abandoned a soldier who had risked his life for the country.
