H.E President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo has today issued Presidential decree #JSL / M / XERM / 249-37 58/012016 in which he appoints a new Chief of the Presidential Guard and his deputy at the same time replacing the former commander of the Presidential Guard and his deputy with immediate effect .
President: –
In accordance with Article 90, paragraph 3, letter (d) of the Constitution of the Republic of Somaliland;
Having considered: The importance of the Presidential guards;
Saw the: Need to fill the post of Chief of the Presidential guards;
Having considered: Capability, knowledge and integrity to work;
After being convinced: Ability to serve;
Has Decided
- Colonel Ahmed Ali, from this date to be commander of the Presidential Guard of the Republic of Somaliland.
- The captain, Ahmed Duale (Alyoos), from this date to be Deputy Chief of the Presidential Guard of the Republic of Somaliland.

I would like to thank you for exemplary service as the Commander and Deputy Commander of the Presidential Guards of the Republic of Somaliland.
I would like to inform you that I have relieved current duties as the Commander and Deputy Commander of the Presidential Guards of the Republic of Somaliland.
Therefore, I hope you hand over you duties according to norms to the incoming Col. Ahmed Dahir Ali the new of Commander and Captain Jama Dualeh , the new Deputy Commander of the Presidential Guards of the Republic of Somaliland.
