After a long battle, Muse Bihi Abdi, having received president Silanyo’s endorsement has been elected by the convention delegates as the Kulmiye governing party 2017 presidential candidate.
It is over! 344 voted in favor of Musa Bihi Abdi to be the next Kulmiye ruling party falgbearer.
14 voted against Musa Bihi while 8 abstained.
Before even counting of the votes was finished, supporters broke into uncontrollable joy after noting that their candidate was heading for a landslide victory as counting of the votes was being done in the open and loudly for everyone to hear which vote was for whom.
In his acceptance speech, Musa Bihi thanked the delagates for voting him president and promised the supporters that Kulmiye will engage in a robust and vigorous campaign in 2017 presidential race.
During the speech, Muse emphasized on the need for unity for the party to be in power in 2017 presidential elections by arguing those who defected should not dump the party as there is a lot of work to be done for the party before the 2017 elections.
The three allied wing have not attended the national conference which is underway at Mansour Hotel.
at same Event the incumbent Vice President has defeated his main rival the minister of Health, Suleiman Isse Ahmed.
Both were vying for the presidential nominee of Kulmiye governing party.
Mr. Abdirahman Saylici has got 230 votes while his main rival, minister of Health has got 114.
21 delegates have abstained the vote.
The current minister of Health, Suleiman Isse has admitted defeat but cited irregularies in the voting system of the party.
Mr. Suleiman has thanked who voted for him but urged that those who voted against him should understand the unity by the grace of Allah.
