SOMALIA: No General Elections in 2016 says Somali Parliament Speaker

RBC — Somali Parliament speaker Mohamed Osman Jawari has first time unveiled his views on the set general elections in 2016, saying there can be no general elections, RBC Reports.

Addressing on Monday’s Somalia Federal Parliament’s session, Jawaari stated that the scheduled democratic elections cannot be realized in the year of 2016.

“The government and every Somali citizen know that “One Person One Vote” elections cannot happen in Somalia in august 2016″ Jawaari Said.

Somalia Federal Government has severally repeated that it will hold a general elections in the country next year but this statement from the Parliament speaker opens way into confusion on the possibility of the schedulled elections.
