Fuad Adan Addeh: A statesman, a peace pillar, a Somalilander passes away at 72

President Silanyo’s advisor for eastern regions affairs Fuad Aden Adde has on Wednesday passed away in a hospital in Turkey where he was receiving treatment for fractured thigh.The late Fuad Adan Adde sustained fractured thigh after he was run over by a car driven by a young man inside Somaliland’s presidential compound.

In a statement released by presidential spokesman, President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud (Silanyo) sent a message of condolence to the family, friends and to the Somaliland nation at large on death of the late Fuad Adan Adde.

The statement said “The late Fuad Adan Adde will be remembered as a peace loving person who worked hard in promoting peace and also one of the Architects of the current democratic system which this country stands on to the Somaliland nation at large,”

May Allah (SWT) bless his soul our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time .His untimely death is a great loss to his family and to the Somaliland nation at large.

Similarly, the leaders of the three political parties, Kulmiye, Waddani and UCID have also sent heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and to the Somaliland nation at large on death of the late Fuad Adan Adde.

Fuad, a man of tremendous political and social stature, was a darling to a Somaliland media that will miss his witty, often incisive methods of peace-building cached in words that foe and friend equally welcomed and wholly accepted.
