At least eight killed in bomb blast in battleground border town as ISIL attacks Kobane from three sides, activists say.At least eight people were killed in a car bomb attack in the Syrian town of Kobane near the Turkish border, Turkish news agency Anatolia reported.
The blast occurred when Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) fighters staged an attack from three sides of the town, an official from the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) said on Thursday.
Fighting is said to be ongoing, with the YPG asking civilians to stay home as it sent reinforcements to the town.
The fighting prompted Kurdish activists on Twitter to accuse Turkey of allowing ISIL to attack Kobane from its side of the border.
