The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His excellency Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud ‘Siilaanyo’ was back in Hargeisa on Tuesday upon conclusion of the visit to Ethiopia.
The President, during his stay in Addis Abeba, held a fruitful meeting with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Ato Hailemariam Desalegn, according to a brief statement the President gave the media afterward.
The two sides talked of matters of great import to both sides during the hour-long talks they held centering on further enhancement of an already excellent relations between the two countries wherein would flourish cementing ties on security, economy, infrastructure and stronger cooperation on political development impacting regional peace, stability and political layout.
Specific details pertaining to the renewed commitments, however, remained under wraps on both sides. Political observers point out that the programs committed will soon show on the ground within the coming few months.
The importance of the visit was highlighted by the caliber and rank of members of the presidential delegation including, besides the First Lady, the Ministers of the Presidency, Foreign Affairs and Interior – among others.
