Somali Islamist group al Shabaab claimed responsibility on Sunday for an attack on a compound where Somali intelligence officials train.
“We attacked the national security training base and we killed many intelligence forces. We captured the building and we are fighting inside it,” Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab, al Shabaab’s military operations spokesman, told Reuters.
