Illegal Roadblocks Mount in South of Somalia-Governor

Somalia’s regional governor of lower Shabelle region, Abdukadir Mohamed Nur said that illegal roadblock has been mounted an area between Burhakaba and Afgoye towns in south of Somalia.

Mr. Nur told Shabelle Media that armed Militias from clans had set up unlawful checkpoints an area sandwiched between Burhakaba and an agricultural rich town lies 30km from Mogadishu.

Public vehicle drivers have voiced concerns over fresh illegal roadblocks that have been set up by armed militiamen who take large sum amount of money from drivers, travelling through lower Shabelle region.

The governor Mohamed’s word comes after concerns over illegal roadblocks has been placed on roads links in the towns of south of Somalia.
