The government of Somaliland has warned Saudi Arabia led coalition shall not in any way either directly or indirectly be allowed to access and use Somaliland Airspace, territorial waters, airports and seaports without the authorization of the government of the Republic of Somaliland in a press statement stated below released today by Republic of Somaliland Minister of Aviation and Air Transport Hon Mohamoud Hashi Abdi .
Press Release
08/04/2015
The Republic of Somaliland is very concerned with the developing situation in Yemen and is following closely and calls on the international community to find a quick solution to the conflict in that country.
The Saudi Arabia led coalition shall not in any way either directly or indirectly be allowed to access and use Somaliland Airspace, territorial waters, airports and seaports without the authorization of the government of the Republic of Somaliland.
Although our political stand is clear, we shall not allow in anyway whatsoever the usage of facilities in our territorial jurisdiction without the proper authorization hence the need to warn those who are bent on breaching this ultimatum shall bear the full responsibility of the consequences which may occur as a result of any provocations.
We would clearly like to state we shall deal directly with anyone or entity involved in such actions and not with the federal government Somalia.
The federal government Somalia can only allow usage of facilities under its own jurisdiction and territory and not those under the territorial jurisdiction of another Sovereign country.
Hence the need to clarify that the federal government of Somalia has no authority whatsoever neither the jurisdiction to grant authorization to the Saudi led coalition for the usage of Somaliland airspace or its territorial Sea in anyway.

Somaliland Minister of Aviation and Air Transport
Hon Mahmoud Hashi Abdi
