An emotional Celine Dion, who has been on a leave of absence from her Las Vegas residency to care for her family, is revealing sad details about her husband’s battle with cancer.
The singer, 46, tells ABC News’ Deborah Roberts in an interview set to air on Good Morning America andNightline on Wednesday that Rene Angélil, 73, has to be fed by a feeding tube because of his throat cancer.
“He can’t eat so I feed him,” Dion, wiping tears away, told Roberts during the interview in Las Vegas, which Angélil attended.
“He’s got a feeding tube. I have to feed him three times a day.”
In August Dion announced she was postponing all shows to stay home and care for her husband, who had a cancerous tumor removed in December 2013. The music manager was also diagnosed with throat cancer in 1999.
“We are taking life one day at a time,” Dion tells ABC News. “(But) we are choosing to live.”
Dion is set to return to her Caesars Palace gig in late August. She signed a contract in 2013 that goes to 2019.
