The United States Embassy in Djibouti is anticipated to be reopened again on Sunday after days of feared security threats in the Djiboutian capital officials said. The US government has closed its Embassy doors on Thursday.
The closure statement from the US website said that Embassy could resume work in the middle of this month. “The embassy would be reopened on March 22” the embassy said in a statement published on its website.
Government’s state Department give no details what drove Embassy’s closure , but there are security threats in the region one year after Al-shabab’s attack at a very populated restaurant in the capital Djibouti on May last year.
The Djibouti government has sent battalion of its troops to Somalia to fight Al-shabaab Islamists along AU troops in the long troubled horn of African nation.
