Armed gunmen this morning shot dead a well-known woman in Dharkeenley neighborhood of Mogadishu.
The motive of the attack could not be immediately established as the attackers fled the scene. Eye witnesses told Wacaal media that the woman referred to as Halimo Odweyn was shot at from close range in front of her house. T
he deceased had no business whatsoever with the government of Somalia although she was involved in humanitarian activities. She was known to assist internally displaced persons in Dherkeenley.
Security forces arrived at the scene immediately and launched investigations in to the incident arresting one suspect in the process.
