“JMPD officers arrested two smash-and-grab suspects in the act at about 16:30 today at the Grayston offramp from the M1 south,” said Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.
“As a motorist slowed down in afternoon peak traffic, approaching the traffic light, his car’s passenger window was open.”
One of the two men opened the car’s door and removed the driver’s wallet from inside the car.
The driver got out and wrestled with the men. Metro police officers who were nearby assisted and arrested both men.
“They will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court tomorrow morning for theft out of a motor vehicle,” said Minnaar.
