President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud “Silanyo” on Thursday sent a congratulatory message to the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on occasion of country’s National Day, the presidential spokesman said.
In the message, President Silanyo expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the two countries.
“I wish to extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to your Excellency and Qatar’s people on National Day”, said the president.
Qatar National Day is a national commemoration of Qatar’s unification and independence and is celebrated on December 18 every year.
The holiday was established by a decree of the Emir and Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani in June, 2007.
It is intended to maintain a knowledge and appreciation of Qatar’s heritage, and to encourage pride among Qataris.
